How coverages work if you have separate policies: Your coverages would work similarly, but certain accidents can be more complicated. For example, your teenager is driving your car and hits someone else (meaning your teen is at fault). There are two separate claims here—damages they cause to others and damages to your car. Which company will handle and pay each claim will vary based on the circumstances and terms of each policy.
If you’re going off to school but your car won’t be coming along for the journey, you should ask your family insurance agent about a lower premium. If you’re not driving the vehicle year-round, then there’s no reason you should have to pay top dollar for year-round coverage. But definitely don’t just cancel your policy – you want to make sure that if your vehicle is stolen or damaged by an act of nature (or vandals) that you are covered.
While laws vary from state to state, it's generally required that your teen have at least a learners permit before they can legally hit the road (with a licensed adult in the passenger seat). While they might not need their own insurance if they've only got a permit, it's wise to check with your insurer, just in case, to be sure of your local laws.
When I talked to the employees at 21st Century Insurance, they don't talk at me, they talk to me just like they would any other person. They look past the bottom line dollar signs and see me as an individual; a lot of insurance companies today can't seem to deliver that. I think it's obnoxious when a company becomes so big that they don't treat the customers as people anymore or when companies become so large that the employees become impersonal and arrogant. So far, I've not encountered this with 21st Century Insurance and that, my friends, leaves me a satisfied customer!
They are the BEST out there! I have gone to different ones and had to come back to them because they are so honest, so friendly and so professional. They are not ripping you off with those 6 month policies and with a bunch of other fees. Do your research... Call around and you will be shocked at how many of those other companies are charging for their premiums (double what Liberty Mutual charges) and then once they get you the first year with somewhat low rates, they hike them back up the second year! Do your research and you will realize that Liberty Mutual is the best all around!

In some states, your teen can qualify for reduced rates by taking a safe driving course. Cracking the books can also mean premium savings — in some states, Esurance offers a Good Student discount to full-time students under 25 who maintain a 3.0 GPA or better. And you could qualify for the Multi-Car discount when you add a second car to your policy.

Services such as eHealthInsurance are simple to use and provide a variety of quotes but may not always show every option available. You may find more plan options by requesting plan information directly from the insurance company's website. Before purchasing new insurance it is always a good idea to ensure that your preferred doctor accepts the insurance you are looking to purchase. While your doctor may be listed on the insurance company's website, it is smart to call your doctor's office directly to verify.
BTW regarding the wreck- do NOT talk to the other insurance company- the @ fault driver’s insurance company. You’re not required if you have a lawyer. Get a lawyer!! Call them from the hospital if you have to they’ll come to you @ the hospital if you call them there. They’ll even come out to your house. Please don’t let the insurance company screw you. You just want what’s fair & your property covered fairly.
