Unfortunately, Liberty Mutual gave us our most expensive quote at $194 per month. It has a modest deductible range of $50 to $1,000, but there are no higher deductible options for those hoping to lower their premiums. One concession to this is the Deductible Fund endorsement, which lowers your collision deductible by $100 every year you go without an accident (up to $500). Liberty Mutual does also offer several discounts to bring premium costs down, including multi-policy, multi-car, safe driver, alternative energy, good student and new address discounts.
How it works: Compare’s shopping process asked me to enter the same general information that other auto comparison websites did. Entering the information was fairly straightforward. Most of the fields were drop-down menus or pre-filled based on information I had submitted on previous pages. The questions were detailed, including some about my current policy limits that required retrieving my insurance documents to answer. This is a $10.00 fee that is applied to your account for a reinstatement related to non-pay cancellations. For example, if you miss your payment due date, and cannot pay before the cancellation date on your non-pay cancellation notice, a $10.00 fee will be applied to your account if and only if you decide to reinstate your policy. Elephant will never charge you a reinstatement fee if your policy has been canceled in error.
