With brackets you can additions and clearly delimit supplements from the rest of the text <§ 86>. This also applies to longer sections <§ 87>. (Often there can be commas or dashes in the appropriate places.)

  1. Explanations of an addition that is already in brackets are often put in square brackets.

    For example

    • The word bankruptcy (from the Italian "banca rotta" [collapsed bank]) denotes insolvency.
