Who does the "Holy Land" belong to?


"What takes a long time will finally ..." - done! So one has to state that, after a symposium in Giessen at the end of August 2010, the lectures held at the time could now be published under the topic of the same name, "Who owns the land (Israel)?" It is up to the readers to decide whether or not the result deserves the proverbial quality rating “will finally be good” after this long period of creation. In any case, the authors and editors are very committed to presenting well-founded articles on the "land ownership issue of Israel" and thus to invite the theological specialist discussion.

Overall, the lectures in this anthology aim to provide an impetus to specify the answer to the question from a Christian theological perspective, to whom the land promised in the biblical traditions and promised in the future by God-Yahweh belongs to the people of Israel, and whether it does an award to a specific addressee can be justified at all. The presentations also want to inspire theological and parish-church exchange on the "land ownership issue" from different perspectives, thereby sensitizing people to listening to one another and sharpening the senses for theological judgment.

A total of 14 authors from different denominational and theological backgrounds as well as from different congregational backgrounds and theological specialist areas hammered in the delimitation posts of the subject area that is being explored.
