May 7th, 21 (1:34 pm) Fake! Message “Cross border without quarantine” is incorrect

There is currently incorrect information on a competitor's website. There it says accordingly: "All residents of Switzerland can come to Germany quarantine-free to pick up their parcels." THAT'S WRONG !!!

As before, only people who fall under the exception rules are allowed to cross the border. Exemptions from quarantine: who is still allowed to enter? All exceptions simply explained

MyPaketshop is shocked that competitors with incorrect information encourage their customers to violate the corona measures. This is neither in the interests of those customers, who face significant fines, nor of us border service providers.

04/17/21 (9:55 am): The border opening for fully vaccinated people is now official

Yesterday we reported, referring to the "Südkurier", that the border should be passable for fully vaccinated people from April 19 without quarantine. Now this regulation has also been officially included in the "Corona regulation entry quarantine" of the state of Baden-Württemberg. This ensures that fully vaccinated people can cross the border quarantine-free. Corresponding proof must of course be carried with you.

04/16/21 (4:10 p.m.): Border opening for fully vaccinated people + longer opening times again

As reported by Südkurier today, the state of Baden-Württemberg wants to change its entry rules on April 19th. From then on, people who have been completely vaccinated against Corona may enter WITHOUT quarantine. However, vaccinated people must NOT have any symptoms of the disease. The vaccine must also be approved in the EU. At the moment these are: BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.

What does this mean for our customers?

  1. Those who are fully vaccinated (usually 2 vaccinations) can enter and leave the country without quarantine.
  2. Please bring proof of vaccination with you.
  3. Vaccination must be completed 14 days.
  4. Vaccination was done with BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. (further vaccines approved in the EU will follow)
  5. Anyone who is not fully vaccinated (currently one vaccination dose) must continue to be in quarantine.
  6. Anyone who is vaccinated but has symptoms of the disease must also be quarantined.

Many other exemptions from the quarantine requirement

For example, those who have completely recovered from Corona can also enter and leave the country without quarantine if the illness was at least 21 days ago and a maximum of 3 months ago. The survived disease must be proven with a PCR test. For further exceptions see: Exceptions to the quarantine: Who is allowed to enter anyway? All exceptions simply explained # Update

We are extending our opening times again

Since this is good news and our customers have asked us to do so, we are extending our opening times again. We are here for you from April 20th as follows:

Tuesday to Friday:
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

March 30, 21 (12:35 p.m.): Entry regulations changed - no relief at the border

The ordinance of the Ministry of Social Affairs on quarantine measures for incoming and return travelers to combat the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus was changed today. Unfortunately, there are only minor reliefs for those arriving from virus variant areas.

“The second amending ordinance removes the fourteen-day segregation requirement for those entering from virus variant areas. Entrants from virus variant areas must therefore, like those from other risk areas, be segregated for ten days. "
(see https://www.baden-wuerttemberg.de/fileadmin/redaktion/daten/PDF/Coronainfos/210329_CoronaVO_Einreise-Quarantaene_Begruendung.pdf)

Nothing will change for our customers. The actual border closure is still the state of affairs.

March 24th, 21st (12:23 pm): No closure on April 1st and 3rd

The German Federal Government has just announced that Maundy Thursday and Holy Saturday will not be declared rest days after all. Actually, according to yesterday's decision by the federal-state conference, these days should be treated like Sundays.

MyPaketshop is therefore open on April 1st (Thursday) and Saturday (April 3rd) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

March 19, 21 (7:32 a.m.): CDU city associations are calling for the reintroduction of the 24-hour rule

The CDU city associations Bad Säckingen and Wehr are calling for the 24-hour rule to be reintroduced, as reported by the Badische Zeitung and the Südkurier today. We have the requirement:

CDU city associations Bad Säckingen and Wehr are calling for a quran-free border crossing with the inclusion of tests and vaccination certificates as soon as possible

The last easing of the corona measures give hope. What the state policy leaves out completely, however, is the situation at the border.

Our region is economically, socially and culturally dependent on its Swiss neighbors. But according to the current Corona regulations, the rules at the border remain at the status of January 2021. The quarantine-free border crossing is therefore excluded for shopping and day tourists.

That has to change as soon as possible, because the effects of this de facto border closure are visible everywhere: restaurants are closing down and shops are disappearing from the cityscape. Many companies can no longer reach their Swiss customers at all or only with great difficulty, which leads to a drop in sales that threatens their existence. Employees are on short-time work or have already become unemployed.

We therefore demand: The 24-hour rule for day and shopping tourists from the border cantons must be reintroduced.

We need them so that the cultural, social and, above all, economic damage to our region does not increase. If this measure is linked to test scenarios, the infection process can also be well controlled, just as it is in Germany.

We, the CDU city associations Bad Säckingen and Wehr, assume that with this measure, the border will become what it should be again: A sign of the connection between Switzerland and Germany.

The needs of the border region must finally be heard by state politics.

The CDU city associations Bad Säckingen and Wehr

We hope that this demand will be heard and that we will be able to welcome many of our customers again soon.

March 8th, 21 (8:59 a.m.): Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration is currently NOT promising any easing at the border

We asked the Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration of the State of Baden-Württemberg. We wanted to know when the border would be passable again for everyone without quarantine. The ministry replied: "In principle, a basis for the complete lifting of the quarantine obligation would exist if Switzerland or the relevant border regions are no longer designated as a risk area by the competent authorities of the federal government."

We also wanted to know whether the 24-hour rule practiced before Christmas for day tourists from the border cantons can be reactivated. But here, too, there was no positive answer: “The restriction of the 24-hour rule in border regions will therefore also remain in place for the time being. Information about any changes will be published promptly on the website of the Ministry of Social Affairs or via press releases. "

In a nutshell: For our customers, for my employees and for me, nothing will change before Easter. But I remain optimistic that the Easter Bunny will put some positive incidence values in the Easter basket for all of us.

03/04/21 (7:56 am): No openings for the time being

The corona summit of the federal states and the federal government took place in Germany yesterday. Opening strategies that are linked to the incidence value were presented. There should be a step-by-step opening of the retail sector. To do this, however, the 7-day incidence must be below 50 for three days. If it is between 50 and 100, “Click & Meet” is allowed for retailers. In the district of Waldshut, where Bad Säckingen is located, the 7-day incidence was 76.6 today. The concrete step-by-step plan for openings in Baden-Württemberg can be found here.

At the summit, there were no statements about how things stand with the borders. These specific border issues are regulated by the federal states anyway.

For our customers from Switzerland this means:

Nothing is changing at the moment. People to whom exemptions apply can come to us without quarantine. Shopping and day tourists still have to go into quarantine, which amounts to a de facto border closure.

Our customs clearance service is still there for all customers. He brings your parcels safely across the border.

02/26/21 (1:42 p.m.): Waldshut district changes entry regulations, but only for high-incidence and virus variant areas

There are some changes for entry into the Waldshut district. It's about dealing with people who are datingHigh incidence areas enter. With immediate effect, they must present a negative corona test, which must not be older than 48 hours.

High incidence areas are regions in which there were more than 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. Switzerland currently belongs with a 7-day incidence of 83.3Not to the high incidence areas.

Exception for cross-border commuters

If cross-border commuters come to work, school, training, residence, etc. from a high-incidence area, they only need to be tested twice per calendar week. The test must not be older than 48 hours.

If no test is available upon entry, this must be done immediately. This is possible, for example, in general practitioners' and specialist practices as well as corona-focused practices. Many pharmacies also offer this service.

Visiting relatives is still allowed

The above-mentioned exception for cross-border commuters also applies if you visit first-degree relatives, such as your partner or your children.

Entry from a virus variant area

If you are entering from a virus variant area, you must present a negative corona test, which must not be older than 48 hours.

When entering from virus variant areas, NO exception is made for cross-border commuters.

Virus variant areas are regions in which virus mutations frequently occur. These mutations must be considered more dangerous than the virus types already present in the country.

Free tests

The state of Baden-Württemberg finances a free offer for rapid antigen tests for cross-border commuters. The tests can be carried out in general and specialist practices and corona-focused practices as well as in pharmacies that offer this service. If Switzerland or certain cantons are declared a high incidence area or virus variant area, the district of Waldshut will create further test options.

What does this mean for our customers?

Nothing is changing for them at the moment. The above rules only apply if Switzerland or the cantons are declared high-incidence or virus variant areas.

02/11/21 (2:10 p.m.): Are there any exceptions for those who have been vaccinated and those who have already recovered?

We communicated with the Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration in Baden-Württemberg in order to clarify questions that were brought to us about the current entry regulations.

Are vaccinated people allowed to enter quarantine-free?

Unfortunately no, a vaccination alone does not allow entry without quarantine.

Is it enough to show a negative COVID-19 test to be allowed to enter without quarantine?

For day and shopping tourists, a quarantine obligation applies even if the test is negative. You can find the current exceptions in our blog post Exemptions from quarantine: Who is allowed to enter anyway? Read all exceptions explained in simple terms.

Residents of the border cantons who have survived a COVID-19 illness are allowed to enter Baden-Württemberg free of quarantine for 24 hours. What papers do these people use to prove their recovery during a check-up?

These people need a medical certificate to enter the country. The illness must have been at least 21 days and no more than six months ago. The survived infection must have been confirmed by means of a polymerase chain reaction (PCR test).

01/25/21 (12:32 PM): These countries are now considered to be High incidence areas

From today, stricter entry regulations apply to Germany. Baden-Württemberg already adopted these regulations on January 18. introduced. For more details, see the article from January 18. (9:21 am).

What is new now is that certain countries are listed as High incidence areas be valid. These are states and areas that have an incidence higher than 200. In exceptional cases, it can also be countries with a lower value. As of Sunday, the following areas have been included: Albania, Andorra, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Estonia, Iran, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, Colombia, Kosovo, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Panama, Portugal, Serbia , Slovenia and the United Arab Emirates. This also includes the Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, Egypt and the USA. Anyone entering from these countries must be able to show a negative PCR test. For further entry regulations, see the article from January 18 (9:21 am).

Are there any changes to the German-Swiss border?

As written, the stricter regulations have been in effect in Baden-Württemberg since January 18th. Therefore nothing changes here. Border controls are only carried out on a random basis. As some customers tell us, there are even border crossings that are not manned. However, there is a veil manhunt in the interior of the country. You can find out who is allowed to cross the German-Swiss border despite quarantine regulations here:

21.01.21 (8:50 a.m.): Press report - exception for collection until this Saturday

There has been a lot of confusion over the past few days about picking up parcels with or without quarantine. We have informed you about this here in the news ticker and in the newsletter. Now the Südkurier is also reporting on the events and the exemption for our customers. (see message from 01/18/21 [1:13 p.m.]).

1/20/21 (9:04 am): FFP2 masks or medical masks are mandatory in shops

January 18, 21 (9:21 a.m.): New, stricter entry regulations - excluding cross-border commuters

As of today, even stricter entry regulations apply to Baden-Württemberg. Fortunately they are Excluding cross-border commuters. You can find out exactly who falls under the exemptions in our blog post Exemptions from quarantine: Who is still allowed to enter? Read all exceptions explained in simple terms.

The following applies to normal travelers as of today:

  1. Anyone entering from an area where the new, more contagious virus variants exist, must show a negative test result when entering the country. This currently applies to the following countries: South Africa, Great Britain, Ireland and Northern Ireland - and from Tuesday also Brazil.
  2. Anyone entering from one of the above-mentioned countries can NOT shorten the quarantine with a further negative test.
  3. The measures mentioned under 2. and 3. also apply to travelers who want to enter from so-called high-incidence areas. There are currently no such areas abroad.

Exceptions apply to residents of the border regions. The border can usually be crossed here without quarantine. (More on this see article) But the exception for residents of the border area does NOT apply to shopping and day tourists. They must adhere to the quarantine regulations upon entry.

14.01.21 (3:52 p.m.): Exception from the regulatory office! Pick up parcels allowed!

We received mail from the public order office in Bad Säckingen. That’s good news for you.

Residents of the border cantons can pick up all orders stored with us WITHOUT having to be in quarantine.

This only applies to orders that we have in stock or that we receive by Saturday.

If you ordered something on Monday (January 11th) or Tuesday (January 12th) and the item will only arrive after this Saturday (January 16th, 21st), then the pick-up permit also applies to this order.

As proof to the authorities, simply show the notification of receipt of your shipment from MyPaketshop. You received this by email or SMS. You should also print out the mail from the public order office or save it on your mobile phone. We have linked the screenshot here.

01/13/21 (8:42 a.m.): Do NOT collect parcels without quarantine - the border is actually tight

On Monday we received the message from the Ministry of Social Affairs in Baden-Württemberg that it was allowed to collect parcels without quarantine. (We informed.) Yesterday evening the ministry changed its attitude: Picking up parcels without quarantine is no longer permitted.

Three government agencies confirmed to us on Monday that it is allowed to pick up a parcel without quarantine:

1. Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs

2. the district office of Waldshut

3. the Bad Säckingen public order office

In addition, the deputy press spokesman for the ministry (Axel Murmann) confirmed to “20 Minuten” and the “Aargauer Zeitung” that parcel collection from parcel service providers without quarantine is allowed.

On Tuesday evening it was said from the Ministry of Social Affairs of Baden-Württemberg: Picking up parcels is excluded. It is considered shopping tourism.

This unspeakable behavior by the state government caused us damage of an economic nature and, of course, damage to our image.

Please understand: We are only the messenger here, not the cause!

01/12/21 (6:06 p.m.): Contradicting statements from the Ministry of Social Affairs about picking up parcels

"20 Minuten" has just reported that the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs has withdrawn the regulation for parcel collection. It should not be allowed to pick up a package without quarantine. We currently do not know how reliable the information is and are trying to verify it. As soon as we know more details, we will notify you here and by newsletter.

MyPaketshop statement

We are extremely shocked by the way in which the Ministry of Social Affairs deals with parcel shops, their employees and, of course, the Swiss. We have already made all preparations to get our employees out of short-time work. They were really happy to see their colleagues and customers again and to get something to do. And now comes this message.
