User page [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, as written, I set up the Babels for you on the user page. The template User: Wald1siedel / Credits has also been created and has already been included in all photos of you. You can now find all your photos in the Category: Files by User: Wald1siedel - I have also classified the new photos from today a little differently, because you have put it in the category: Trachtenenschlitten- und Customsfest without the year 2014, but has already been repaired. --gruss K @ rl (talk) 13:31, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

dear karl, 1000 thanks! and how do I get the latest photos (just uploaded) to my others? and where can i find the toolbar for entering the time of my answer? asks user: Wald1siedel ..
You only have to upload the photos in the conventional way (as you are used to from Salzburgwiki) at the point permission = you write to {{User: Waldsiedel1 / Credits}}, then it is included from the start and there is nothing extra close. (I'll write it to you for those who are still missing) - For the signature, as with Salzburgwiki, the icon with the pencil is at the top (or you just put ~~~~) and the signature is added. (The quadruple wavy line also appears when you open the edit tools).

Something else for photos that show people, put {{personality rights}} behind your building block as a hint --gruss K @ rl (talk) 15:44, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

As an example, I put it in File: Pinzgauer Customs and Trachtenschlittenfest 23 February 2nd, 2014 04.jpg. You can see the addition in the source text. --gruss K @ rl (talk) 15:48, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

thanks for placing the fox photos for me, says Wald1siedel (talk) 08:56, 29 July 2014 (UTC))

"Birds of Xxxx" "categories [edit]

Hi Wald1siedel - captive birds in zoos in Austria are in Austria, but they are not natives of Austria, so do not belong in categories like Category: Birds of Austria. For a comparitive example, suppose David Cameron made a state visit to Austria and was photographed in Wien, you could add the photo to a Category: People visiting Austria, but the photo would not belong in Category: People of Austria. Hope this helps clarify things! - MPF (talk) 15:14, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

thanks for telling me. User: wald1siedelWald1siedel (talk) 09:08, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

I did not see that you had repaired my fault and put the wrong cat. there again, because I thought I had forgotten it .. sorry! User: Wald1siedelWald1siedel (talk) 09:13, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

Please no double cats [edit]

If you have a file in Agriculture in Salzburg (state) you don't have to put them in Agriculture in Austria and Agriculture do - Copy lock (talk) 14:49, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

okay, thanks for the hint! User: Wald1siedelWald1siedel (talk) 16:06, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

Coordinates? [Edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, thank you for your pictures of the coat of arms boundary stone in Unteramlach. For this and for a second coat of arms boundary stone, the Spittal monument list is still missing the coordinates. Could you get the coordinates out, at least for the one object you photographed. The best tool for this is the Kärntenatlas Kagis, I'll mark the property for you, which is located southeast on a municipality border, on which I would then assume the boundary stone. But maybe you also know where the second coat of arms landmark is.

If you are uploading several images for an object, you could group them together into a category. As I do for Category: coat of arms boundary stone Unteramlach and Category: parish church hl. Markus, Amlach. If you are unsure about it, then someone else can do it as well, as you can see, it happens anyway. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 14:33, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing out the categories! have already implemented it at the Liebermann Villa. Concerning coordinates: I will try. I can't promise more because of a lack of knowledge and practice, says user: Wald1siedelWald1siedel (talk) 18:22, 11 September 2014 (UTC))

I am sorry! I searched the map, but couldn't discover the hidden and almost overgrown forest path on which, after hours of searching, I finally found the landmark, which stands in the middle of the forest, and therefore can't help with the coordinates. I was also looking for the second coat of arms boundary stone (Kleinsaß 1). but that's high up on the mountain. i was also way up there, but ultimately had to give up because of a driving ban, a thunderstorm and because of the advanced time. Just like down in the valley, hardly a local could give a reasonable hint, reports User: Wald1siedelWald1siedel (talk) 18:39, 11 September 2014 (UTC))

One more request [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, thanks for trying the coordinates, even if it was ultimately unsuccessful. You don't have to apologize so big, it fits that way. I wanted to give you a hint regarding the date of the picture: This is the date of the picture, the upload date is below and is generated automatically. The recording date is given in the form yyyy, yyyy-mm or yyyy-mm-dd. I noticed it with the postcard, which is probably not from 2014. There still arises the copyright problem, the photographer who photographed the postcard has to be dead> 70 years for the picture to be in the public domain. Or the recording> 100 years old. It is not your own work, scanning does not create a new artistic work. Ev. if you have the postmark on the back, if the card has expired, this would give a hint. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 21:15, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for that information! Unfortunately, the card has not "run". I will find out about the time of origin, but because of certain indications I assume that the picture is already in the public domain, says user: Wald1siedelWald1siedel (talk) 09:08, 15 September 2014 (UTC))
Hello Wald1siedel, again, you are not the authors of this photo in the copyright sense, but only in the technical one, which does not count here. A photographic reproduction of a 2-dimensional work does not create any new copyrights. You can also enter unknown under Author, detto under Date (a date would be better before 19xx), also describe the evidence of public domain under license. In general, a policy of caution applies here on commons, images without sufficient evidence of a free license will be deleted sooner or later. And not only when the author complains. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 09:54, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

sorry, wanted to contact the museum curator, where I bought the ticket, but didn't get to it right away and then it was forgotten. will implement your advice right now, says Wald1siedel (talk) 11:17, 24 October 2014 (UTC))

Since I can no longer find the recording, you have probably already removed it or moved it to the deletion candidates (?) asks Wald1siedel (talk) 11:22, 24 October 2014 (UTC))
I found it now and corrected it as far as possible, informs Wald1siedel (talk) 20:03, 24 October 2014 (UTC))
Hello Herzi Pinki, I finally got the information I wanted about this file: according to information from Herr Horst Scholz, head of the town museum in the Vogt or Kastnerturm in Zell am See, the picture on the card was from the turn of the century. the exact year cannot be determined. thus the public domain is guaranteed, says Wald1siedel (talk) 14:27, 28 January 2015 (UTC))

another problem [edit]

I don't know who to turn to and I hope that this will be read and passed on! the listed building no. 76190 - nepomuk chapel in Neukirchen am Großvenediger - according to statements made by neighbors, people familiar with the area and priests, it does not exist and has never existed at the specified location. what is to be done here? asks user: Wald1siedelWald1siedel (talk) 09:15, 15 September 2014 (UTC))

Hello Wald1siedel, is being read. In general, the best place to discuss this is the central discussion page on the Austrian monument list project. The procedure is:
  • Entry in the error list (central interface to the BDA) - but I will only make it when I have your answer.
in the specific case
  • the coordinates in the list come from the year 2011 and are incorrect (GstNr. and KG do not match BDA), 1400 meters from the specified location according to BDA. But there is no chapel there either.
  • I have no idea whether you will get there again, and how you asked the above question to the locals, but you could look again at this bridge.
  • I throw the wrong coordinates out of the list.
lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 11:49, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

Thank you so much! I'll try to clarify, says Wald1siedel (talk) 15:26, 15 September 2014 (UTC))

Hello Herzi Pinki, now everything is clear. the location you specified at the bridge is correct. the previous one was on the shady side of the valley, the right one is on the sunny side. However, there is no nepomuk chapel there either, only a wayside shrine dedicated to St. nepomuk is dedicated. lg Wald1siedel (talk) 16:29, 15 September 2014 (UTC))
that's great, we'll take it. The names are not always consistent. Nepomuk and GstNr. fits, that's more than anywhere else. If you still have a photo of it and / or could determine the exact coordinates (on the satellite image I only see trees, only the bridge ...), if you know where he is (it is enough to feel it under the trees, that's enough anyway to get there by coordinates. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 05:43, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

I'll do that in the next few days. Wald1siedel (talk) 09:16, 16 September 2014 (UTC))

Thank you, I'm happy. Are my coordinates correct or can you possibly specify them more precisely? lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 07:32, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, after seeing how many photos you uploaded in the last month, I simply say thank you once. I can see for myself that the categorization is not always that easy. Like Herzi Pinki, I checked most of the photos and corrected them if necessary. It is enough if you only enter the categories in the deepest category as Cattle in Salzburg (state) is enough and is not necessary in Cattle in Austria. I know it's a little different than in the Salzburgwiki ;-) - But if that's the case, it's not a problem either. If you have any questions, it is cheaper right away on my discussion page or, for example, at [User talk: Herzi Pinki | Herzi Pinki]] (He will hopefully not be angry with me now, although he is going down in work anyway ;-) --lg K @ rl (talk) 19:07, 15 September 2014 (UTC )

PS: I will be offline next week, I will also take some photos :-) --K @ rl (talk) 19:07, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

Well, you actually got me to even come up with the idea .. and you also helped me in a crucial place. So have fun taking photos and indulgence with new users, wishes Wald1siedel (talk) 19:30, 15 September 2014 (UTC))

Description [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, me again. It would be nice if you could give your valuable pictures a more meaningful description. E.g. with file: Burg Rapottenstein, Waldviertel, Niederösterreich 10.jpg you can only guess which vault in the castle it could be. Monument pictures in particular are art-historical documents, the value of which increases with the description. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 17:41, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Well, now I have a problem due to the lack of literature on it .. is not due to the unwillingness, but the lack of detailed knowledge. (but karl g. also posted files from rapottenstein and even less than I noted. but i know that is no excuse. i should have done more research). will mend me! lg Wald1siedel (talk) 18:14, 17 September 2014 (UTC))
Well, as a photographer you know whether it was the castle chapel or the knight's hall, even without literature. That was the direction in which my impetus was meant. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 21:17, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Category: Nature reserve Zeller See [edit]

hello herzi pinki, under the above title there is a reference to the nature reserve Zeller See in Germany. Below, however, except for two files, only images from the Zeller See nature reserve (Zell am See, State of Salzburg, Austria) appear. a differentiation is needed here. When I placed files from the Austrian NSG ZS on commons, I didn't know anything about the German area with the same name, says Wald1siedel (talk) 19:34, 17 September 2014 (UTC))

Thanks for the hint, the Austrian category is under Category: Zeller See (natural reserve). But you know that anyway. I'll start a suitable disc. The German category is currently empty. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 22:04, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Module Day of the Monument [edit]

hello herzi pinki, thank you very much for your offer! These are the files on the monuments that were nominated for the special competition for the day of the monument, for which I uploaded pictures from the day of the monument: Kaprun Castle, Kaprun Castle Chapel, Keltendorf Steinerbichl Uttendorf, Grafenegg Castle (3), St. Hippolyt, parish church Zell am See. the pictures of Ritzen Castle already have the building block. I'll add the correct file names and the respective number of files in a few minutes, promises Wald1siedel (talk) 09:46, 2 October 2014 (UTC))

had to go and am therefore late. it concerns all files from the fortified hill settlement Steinbühel 01.JPG, uploaded on 9/28/2014, 5:05 pm, for the objects fortified hill settlement Steinbühel, Uttendorf, St. Hippolyth, parish church Zell am See, castle Kaprun, as well as the castle chapel hl. Jakob, Kaprun. Wald1siedel (talk) 11:31, 2 October 2014 (UTC))
I overlooked that here (please always answer where the discussion started), I'll take care of it right away. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 12:45, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
I guess I came too late, sorry. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 13:08, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

no problem; Wasn't really a problem anyway; In addition, I did the work myself anyway, says Wald1siedel (talk) 16:46, 7 October 2014 (UTC))

II. Viennese spring water pipeline [edit]

Thanks for the pictures from Gußwerk (e.g. place names are not subject to the new spelling). I tried to track down the images on the map and assign coordinates to them. In the top right of the list of monuments you will find the function for displaying all coordinates. Can you please check for the pictures of the aqueduct? I failed at accesses 14, 15 and 16. Maybe you can find out coordinates (GIS Styria)? Do you have a larger image for the structure File: II._Wiener_Hochquellenwasserleitung, _Kammer_C, _Weichselboden_03.JPG (marked on the right at the back)? lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 12:45, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Spelling of the place name: I know, I just made a mistake; sorry! I corrected some of the pictures myself after I figured it out. Regarding the coordinates: I'll see if I can do it. unfortunately I have no one here who could instruct me there. I will also have a look at the larger recording of chamber C. now there are Salza pictures and a walk first, then it goes on again, the nepomuk wayside shrine in Neukirchen is still being visited, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. lg Wald1siedel Wald1siedel (talk) 13:55, 7 October 2014 (UTC))
Hello, was not a reproach, just a general notice. You do not have to apologize. Another tip. If the link or the category is red, then the target does not exist, then there is usually a prescriber. Instructions for GIS Styria can be found here. To find an object, I look for the approximate location, e.g. via GstNr. and then zoom in. Switching between orthophoto and ÖK helps, as the high spring line, for example, can be seen better on the ÖK. Once you have identified a building, you can use the coordinate tool to take the coordinates and copy them somewhere. Would help. Often, however, you cannot make out the object at all, but you have an idea of how you got there. Then approximate coordinates also help set in the forest, with the largest enlargement the inaccuracy usually remains in the meter range. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 17:00, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Mark [edit]

i think i accidentally deleted a marker (mountain name). first file chamber C. requested to restore Wald1siedel (talk) 07:36, 8 October 2014 (UTC))

didn't find it. All the markings were still there. Can you link the file you mean in case I haven't found it? BTW, thanks for the effort to describe the photos. This is very useful for use. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 13:55, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

are everyone back anyway, for some inexplicable reason I couldn't find the Gutebrand mark (the file that is in the list of monuments). lg Wald1siedel (talk) 16:16, 8 October 2014 (UTC))

it may take a few moments for it to appear. In any case, you have to get out of the picture with the mouse at least once. And if your computer is tight, it can take a while. But in my opinion it works reliably (apart from the technical time delay). If something is really lost, you can add it again, you will find the text in one of the previous versions. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 21:37, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, I would like to say thank you very simply for the beautiful photos that are continuously uploading. But maybe one or the other would even be included for the Wikimedia calendar. Take a look at Commons: Wikimedia Austria / Calendar 2015 --lg K @ rl (talk) 10:16, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

I don't understand now, where the above signature comes from, since I did everything as usual, says 10:54, 29 October 2014 (UTC)) hopefully the same thing won't happen again, hopes user: Wald1siedel
I just noticed that I wasn't "logged in", maybe that's the gurnd for the strange signature, I don't know my way around that much, says Wald1siedel (talk) 10:57, 29 October 2014 (UTC))
You have just experienced it yourself, nothing more needs to be explained. :-) --K @ rl (talk) 13:24, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Photo Challenge: leaves [edit]

Hi Hald1siedel, thank you for taking part in the photo challenge. I see, however, that you have nominated seven photos that are taken under very similar conditions. The guidelines say "Please do not nominate lots of similar photos; instead choose just your best and most varied images". Nominating lots of similar images is unfair on others because it asks reviewers to choose between your photos rather than choosing between all the photos - they only get three votes. It also means that any one of your images is less likely to get many votes as they may be spread among several. And it makes reviewers tired, especially if the challenge is popular. Could you select one or two at most of the "leaves in the snow" images that you think are best. Thanks. - Colin (talk) 12:06, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

okay, I will try to select one or two from the snowy ones .. Wald1siedel (talk) 15:03, 16 November 2014 (UTC))
@Colin: Sorry, but from which Photo challenge is your discuss here? I hope not from WLM. --K @ rl (talk) 19:26, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
hello karl, it's about the (autumn) leaves. i had difficulty making a decision and therefore loaded several similar images. I've already changed that anyway, says Wald1siedel (talk) 21:40, 16 November 2014 (UTC))

Pictures for Salzburg [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, I saw that you uploaded the photos in Salzburgwiki, e.g. uploaded again for the Transalpin smaller. But that is absolutely necessary, because the Salzburgwiki can also integrate the photos from Commons quite normally - so double mopping is necessary - here it is sufficient for all wikis worldwide. - until Thursday lg K @ rl (talk) 10:11, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Matching yesterday's disc [edit]

do you know this one maybe ;-) --K @ rl (talk) 23:09, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Copyright problem [edit]

to whom it may concern ... dear Karl, dear Herzipinki, I have a problem. The last files I uploaded (all labeled chemogramm, wurmbild and Luis Hengster) are not - like the building block that you (Karl) kindly included for me at my request - says my own work, but come from other people, what I do also correctly stated. but in this case the module is unfortunately also included. Please make this fixed component out of these pictures, which unfortunately I can't do that. otherwise it always fits, but this time it doesn't and therefore leads to an embarrassing false statement that urgently needs to be removed. Thank you very much Wald1siedel (talk) 17:23, 14 December 2014 (UTC))

I'll do it right away, no problem. --gruss K @ rl (talk) 17:55, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Hello Wald1siedel, but another problem arises, Luis Hengster has to send a release for this, because you have no copyrights if you are not the author, ie Hengster has to send an email to the OTRS team, see here - Greetings K @ rl (talk) 18:13, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

Dear Karl, thank you very much I didn't know what kind of avalanche I was going to start, because the painter Luis Hengster has already died and his son, who is on the one hand the one who took the scans and the photos (except for one, but here, too, he is the source) and also otherwise owns all rights to the deceased artist, has given me the permission to publish. i will contact him now, but from my side this is not possible until tomorrow afternoon. lg Wald1siedel (talk) 21:08, 14 December 2014 (UTC))

In that case the copyrights of the painter himself apply, which passed to the son through death´. Digitization, i.e. scans or photos, does not trigger a new copyright. In this sense, it would be beneficial if his son should send the approval of his father's pictures to the OTRS team. It is best to send a collective mail for the works that you upload, so that each work does not need to be approved on its own. If you have any further questions, please contact user Wdwd, who is really familiar with this. --lg K @ rl (talk) 11:09, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

dear karl, thank you very much for your info werde i will establish contact with mr hengster this week and ask him to do so, says Wald1siedel (talk) 16:18, 15 December 2014 (UTC))

NACHSATZː mr. Hengster can only be reached again during the christmas holidays, reports Wald1siedel (talk) 14:37, 16 December 2014 (UTC))

File: Christmas biscuits 02.JPG [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel,
maybe your picture fits better in the German-language Christmas photo competition? Llann has just noticed on the discussion page that he doesn't know which household appliance is to be displayed here ... the table?
Kind regards, Anna reg (talk) 00:12, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

hello anna reg, thanks for the infoǃ maybe Llann has never baked cookies in contrast to the actor in my picture. The captured moment shows the kneading of the dough again before it is again rolled out with the pasta roller on the work tray and further biscuits are cut out with the cookie cutters .. pasta roller, flour bowl and cookie cutters can be seen in the picture, but are actually in this one not used for a moment. let's see what can still be done, says with best regards from the west Wald1siedel (talk) 07:31, 15 December 2014 (UTC))

hello anna reg, am i correct assuming that my picture has been removed from the application ??? In any case, I can no longer see it there, says with kind regards Wald1siedel (talk) 07:42, 15 December 2014 (UTC))

Hello Wald1siedel,
You're right, your picture was apparently removed from the competition last night. Normally, the user should be notified immediately - with a reason why the picture does not fit into the competition. I am afraid that in that case my question written in German has been mistaken for this notification ... I did not expect that, because the other images removed yesterday were discussed for a few days (see here) before the decision was made yesterday Not to classify 'professional appliances' as 'household appliances' and to remove them so that there is no confusion (and consideration was given to whether your picture shows a commercial kitchen - which I don't really think ...).
The moment you captured can be seen very nicely in the picture - as I said, it would fit very well into the Christmas competition (simply the category Christmas time, winter time, turning point photo competition 2014/2015 or insert the template {{photo competition 2014}} with the picture).
In principle, an image can also be 'put back into the competition' if there is further discussion - I would just rather say that the devices shown 'in use' (or one of them) are already in focus for this commons competition should (I'm actually waiting for pictures of cutting out cookies or rolling out dough or pushing a baking sheet into the pipe that have not yet appeared ...; ->) - maybe you have the opportunity to take pictures again?
Kind regards, Anna reg (talk) 10:04, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Dear Anna reg, for the time being, thank you very much for the informationǃ now I have a few other things to do before I even think about it, lg Wald1siedel (talk) 10:17, 15 December 2014 (UTC))

Hi Wald1siedel, I just stumbled in here. The description in the photo could be added because it was taken in the middle of it. What I - as already indicated - would also find very interesting, that would be a series of photos from the Christmas bakery (create a new page?), Although I have now looked in vain for a commons page Baking (Cat.) That linked from could be. If you like, a series of 2 or 3 freshly taken photos could also be added under "technics" in December 2014 (very tangible earthly next to the globally important space things ...), with a link to the photo series. I'm getting hungry now, I have to get out of here, see you soon. --LudwigSebastianMicheler (talk) 06:55, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
dear LudwigSebastianMicheler, there is still beer to drink, but these cookies have literally already been eaten ... says Wald1siedel (talk) 15:50, 17 December 2014 (UTC))
I do not understand your answer. Why not an organic cyclist? Have all the biscuits for this year been baked (eaten up? Now?) I just wanted to ask if you would like to contribute current pictures for the (globally seen) mini project of commons photos and videos worth seeing in December 2014 and I had already at the end of the many pictures of the day dreamed of being able to link to an exciting "making of" page for baking! The well-sponsored French cyclists sometimes make a lavish Commons photo report (yes, there's something like that in Commons, especially in sport) in addition to the fr-WP (and torment my computer with too many photos in a single spot; sometimes to the point of crashing - almost like the huge Louvre "collections" - so please don't bake too richly). For the de-Wikipedia Christmas cookies there isn't even a Christmas biscuit forwarding, the Wiktionary has at least 2 photos for the Christmas bakery in it. Now I'm wondering whether I should add the ingredients to another current meal (The men in Wikipedia are currently cooking new articles for Christmas and are first discussing the Christmas dinner (if that interests you). Perhaps an English title should also be used for international findability for which Christmas cookies are taken? --LudwigSebastianMicheler (talk) 06:10, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
sorry, have only now discovered that there was another melding for this chapter. what i meant: these shortbread biscuits are literally eaten HERE (household items in the competition). in real life literally. But I placed it in the German competition Christmas time, winter time, turning point and the picture can also be placed elsewhere where it fits, says Wald1siedel (talk) 21:49, 26 December 2014 (UTC))

Colon [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, I see you are using a slightly different colon at the beginning of the line - I don't quite know which one yet. But usually the normal colon and one more with each contribution, so that it is indented more and more. Just as a little tip on the side :-) --lg K @ rl (talk) 07:19, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Dear Karl, first of all thank you for your attention. Due to a lack of knowledge, there will still be a few things to say, I'm afraid. the funny thing is, i don't know any other colon than the normal one. When I last tried to put two colons in a row, as is customary, the text somehow turned red, as if an alarm had been called and I couldn't put the second colon, says Wald1siedel (talk) 09:28, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

ˑ Now I've tried again with two colons. When the second colon is set, the entire text is suddenly underlined in red and what I will see in a moment comes out, says Wald1siedel (talk) 09:31, 18 December 2014 (UTC))

I don't quite understand which colon you're using there. Normal is the one above the simple point ;-) --gruss K @ rl (talk) 21:10, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
I've been trying to find your colon now. I only found it in the special characters, namely that International Phonetic Alphabet and not the colon on the usual PC keyboard is in the order bnm, .- where it is above that. lies. --K @ rl (talk) 21:18, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
dear karl, now I'll try again and it looks completely normal, says Wald1siedel (talk) 21:29, 19 December 2014 (UTC))
I just don't get it. I use exactly the key on which the dot is below and the colon above, says Wald1siedel (talk) 21:30, 19 December 2014 (UTC))
Do you work with a PC or another device like Apple or something else? --K @ rl (talk) 07:05, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
PS: Is that only with Commons or is that also with Salzburgwiki? --K @ rl (talk) 07:07, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

I work with a PC and I think that something is wrong, the colon that still worked in the discussion about the christmas cookies (above). There is less to discuss in the salzburgwiki, so I don't even know. but i think it will be the same lg Wald1siedel (talk) 08:49, 20 December 2014 (UTC))

dear karl, i have tried it in the salzburgwiki (test - at the end of my discussion page under ewald gabardis info entry) and lo and behold, it works there, how you can convince yourself (there), reports Wald1siedel (talk) 08 : 59, 20 December 2014 (UTC))
Okay, then I'll know more again, because then it's somewhere up with your Commons settings - I'll do some research. --lg K @ rl (talk) 15:31, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
Strange Austrian colon - with triangles? Or maybe a Swiss-language keyboard variant? Enlarged (with "Ctrl +") it looks like monument-protected summit markings in the Alps. At least now a trace: A typing "U + 02D0"? How do you get that away when you have it? Also at first again partly at a loss - but in search of further knowledge - puzzles, --LudwigSebastianMicheler (talk) 03:52, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
It worked right up to the last paragraph, as you can see for yourself, I've already deposited the whole thing with FzW, but unfortunately I haven't received an answer yet. --K @ rl (talk) 08:09, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
Which keyboard layout have you set? Which browser? Any custom js here or globally?
As a workaround: copy colons from others. --mfb (talk) 14:53, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
In between she tried the whole thing at Salzburgwiki, where it worked perfectly. --K @ rl (talk) 15:31, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
Wald1siedel, if you go into the text field, a small keyboard symbol should appear at the bottom right (alternatively, in the line at the very top left next to the user name, click on the language and then call up "Input settings". There you have probably accidentally found "International Phonetic Alphabet" selected so that the colon is converted to a length character. Select "Native Keyboard" instead. --Schnark (talk) 11:09, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
hello Schnark, it was as simple as that ... says thanks to everyone who took care of my colon, Wald1siedel (talk) 13:27, 22 December 2014 (UTC))
I'm glad that I see the "normal" colons of you again :-) - Happy Holidays wishes you K @ rl (talk) 15:13, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
yes, I'm happy too and thank you for all the help! I wish you and all of you who are looking in here a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Wald1siedel (talk) 21:34, 22 December 2014 (UTC))

November 2015 - Thanks to the help, I fixed the bug again. Late thank you! - Kürschner (talk) 13:12, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

I had the problem myself, see User talk: Mike-tango # IPA symbol ː. That seems to happen a lot here, I haven't seen it before, only here at Commons. Apparently it happens unnoticed that you click there and the settings are suddenly changed. You don't even notice it at first and then wonder what's going on. You should write that into a Commons help page. --Bjarlin (talk) 18:49, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

Commons: Photo challenge / 2014 - December - Bad weather ... [edit]

Hello .

You've added 2 pictures at the photo challenge and they are very similar. As written in the rules could please choose 1, the one you prefer or think it's the best? It'll be better for all and we won't have to choose the best one for voting.

Thanks a lot and have a good end of year. --Llann. \ M / (Lie 2 me ...) 17:24, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

okay, Llann, I will try to choose my favorite one, but it is not easy. Also a good end of the old year and a good start into the new one! Wald1siedel (talk) 21:34, 27 December 2014 (UTC))
Yes, I guess so . But I think you can understand while voting you may have a 3-stars on each picture rather than 3 3-stars on ONE picture ... So for the one who has the back work after voting it's easier to check on 1 picture. If your images were very different it'll be OK because they are different. It's the same for voters: they'll have to choose between 3 similar images and, may be, they'll vote for another one just because it's hard to choose between yours ... I hope I'm clear enough, French is my native language, not English. --Llann. \ M / (Lie 2 me ...) 21:56, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
Yes, everything is clear to me. Thank you for telling me. It's just my own decision problem. Greetings from the now snow covered Austria Wald1siedel (talk) 22:01, 27 December 2014 (UTC))
Thank you .... I only speak / write English here, so ...
Arrrrrrrrrggg !!! You're killing me !!! We don't have enough snow to ski in Pyréenées (yes we have but the bare minimum - choose "here 12.30" ...).
there is not as much snow as there should be at this time of the year. One may ski on the top of the mountains in the skiing resorts, but mostly only there. I can watch the downhill skiers from my window but this year the skiers still come down back to the valley with the cable car. with new years greetings to the beautiful mountains in France Wald1siedel (talk) 15:52, 29 December 2014 (UTC))

Files Luis Hengster [edit]

Dear Karl, the permissions to the files that I have already mentioned above (under copyright problem) have now been clarified (chemograms, worm images, as well as Luis Hengster in the garden. Except for the file Luis Hengster.jpg, for the deletion of which I have the permission- team. may I now ask you again to remove my standard component from these files. with very sincere thanks and best wishes for the coming year, Christina Wald1siedel (talk) 14:24, 30 December 2014 ( UTC))

Thanks - I did it on my part. Have a Happy New Year K @ rl (talk) 14:59, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

Perchten [edit]

Hello Wald1siedel, I would like to say a very big thank you for your Perchten photos. Because the different regional customs are unfortunately not taken into account here enough. lg K @ rl (talk) 21:55, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

dear karl, I am delighted by your recognition! but I'm actually not very active in this area. that was more of an exception. but maybe that will change, says Wald1siedel (talk) 22:06, 7 January 2015 (UTC))
