How to make a crafting table in Minecraft

This wikiHow teaches you how to build a crafting table in Minecraft. While your inventory can be used to make anything that will fit on a four-field grid, crafting tables have a three-on-three grid of crafting room where you can build most of the advanced items in the game. You can create a crafting table on the pocket, desktop, and console editions of Minecraft. If you are using the "Bedrock Edition" version of Minecraft on a desktop or console platform, follow the steps in Pocket Edition.

Method one of three:
On Pocket Edition

  1. 1 Find a tree. To make a crafting table, you will need four wooden planks that can be made from a tree with a block of wood. Trees are in most areas of Minecraft, so just have a look around.
  2. 2 Collect a block of wood. Tap and hold a piece of the trunk of the tree until it breaks, then go over the block to pick it up.
    • You don't need tools to break wood, although using an ax will speed the process.
